溫柔的守護:NINA HO真絲絲巾清洗與保養日記

Gentle Protection: NINA HO Silk Scarf Cleaning and Care Diary

Caring for a silk scarf is actually caring for your beautiful memories. When you gently wash this serene camellia silk scarf, you are also washing away the hustle and bustle of the day.

Silk is delicate and skin-friendly, possessing a gentle touch closest to that of human skin. This skincare diary is written to ensure this tenderness accompanies you for longer. When we learn how to carefully care for a precious item, this patience will reward us with a more comfortable life.

A quiet ritual before washing

Before you begin washing, give yourself some quiet time. Prepare a neutral detergent ; you can use a silk-specific detergent, baby shampoo, or a pH 7 neutral shampoo, just a drop or two. Avoid strong laundry detergents containing bleach.

Four steps to protect what's beautiful, let's start together.

Step 1. Water temperature control: Wash with cold water.

Silk is sensitive to heat; excessively high water temperatures will cause the fibers to lose their luster.

practice: Please use throughout the entire process. Use cold water below 30°C . First, completely dissolve the detergent in the water, then gently place the silk scarf inside.

Step 2. Touch pressure: Wash with gentle pressing motions, avoiding excessive rubbing.

Silk is most delicate when wet. Gently press it in water and soak the silk scarf for no more than 10 minutes, allowing the water to naturally wash away the stains.

remind: Avoid twisting or wringing it dry.

Step 3. Dehydration Techniques: Towel Absorption Method

To prevent the scarf from deforming, we use the gentlest method to remove moisture. Lay the washed scarf flat on a clean towel and gently roll it up like a Swiss roll, allowing the towel to naturally absorb the excess water.

When using the "towel absorption method," the correct order is to place the silk scarf on top of the regular towel , following these steps:

1. Lay the towel flat: First, lay a clean, dry, and highly absorbent towel flat on the table.

2. Place the scarf: Lay the washed silk scarf flat on top of the towel. Make sure the scarf is as flat as possible, without large folds, so that the water can be absorbed evenly.

3. Roll up: Starting from one end of the towel, roll the towel and the silk scarf inside together like a Swiss roll.

Step 4. Drying method: air drying and low-temperature ironing.

Direct sunlight can cause silk to yellow, so the drying environment is crucial.

practice: Hang in a cool, well-ventilated place to air dry naturally.

Tip: The best time to iron a silk scarf is when it is about 80% dry. Please set the iron to a low temperature (below 150°C). Then, place a white cloth on the silk scarf and iron it; this will restore the silk to its original, charming luster.

Once the scarf has regained its original smoothness, gently fold it. This process is not just about protecting a piece of fabric, but about fulfilling your commitment to an elegant lifestyle.
